About
Dr. Duarte's dad was an ER doctor, so she knew from an early age that she wanted to go into healthcare. Dentistry caught her eye after an accident in which she flew off an innertube on a lake, hit her face on a friend's head, and chipped three teeth (ouch). She was so interested in how her dentist was able to repair her teeth. She also had a large gap between her two front teeth, and after orthodontics was able to close it, she knew that dentistry was the profession for her!
