Dr. Austin is a general dentist with a master's degree in Orofacial Pain, Headache, TMJ and Sleep Disorders. He is the only dentist in Ohio with a Master's Degree in these fields. Other dentists may have taken weekend courses to treat these conditions but are not formally trained.

Care Philosophy

The philosophy of my practice is to treat patients in the most conservative, non-invasive, efficacious methods possible. We utilize a "team approach" in which we teach patients the ability to take control and improve their pain and sleep problems. Having suffered from sleep apnea, migraine headaches and involved in a motor vehicle accident years ago in which I sustained a whiplash/TMJ injury, I teach patients techniques learned in my Pain and Sleep Fellowship and have used on myself for years.
