Dr. David B. Hamer graduated from the University of Virginia with a Bachelor of Arts. He continued his education at the Medical College of Virginia at Virginia Commonwealth University where he earned his Dental Degree. Dr. Hamer completed his Orthodontic Residency at Columbia University. Dr. Hamer’s father opened the original Hamer Orthodontics. After witnessing his father’s love for the field, Dr. David Hamer was inspired to pursue a career in orthodontics. With over 30 years of experience, Dr. Hamer is pleased to offer high quality orthodontic care to the children, teens and adults of Charlottesville and Crozet, VA. As an orthodontist, he enjoys sharing in the joy of so many families as he creates beautiful smiles. In the ever evolving world of orthodontics, Dr. Hamer stays abreast of the latest advancements in technology and materials so he can provide many treatment options to his patients. He understands that every patient has unique needs and will require an individualized treatment plan to achieve that beautiful healthy smile. Outside of the office, Dr. Hamer enjoys outdoor activities with his family and dogs, especially skiing, boating and hiking. Dr. Hamer and his wife are big music fans and love going to the Jazz Fest in New Orleans. Dr. Hamer enjoys practicing and living in Charlottesville because of the four distinct seasons, each one offering different and fun activities!
