About
Dr. David Ray's high energy, passion for orthodontics, drive for perfection, and mission to be at the top of his profession is evident in his unparalleled education, training, and continuing education. Education and Training David Ray, DDS, MS has 14 years of college and professional training, highlighted by graduating DDS Summa Cum Laude from the Ohio State University College of Dentistry. He completed a Master's of Science in Physiology from the OSU graduate school of medicine during dental school, an Oral Medicine residency at Indiana University School of Dentistry emphasizing TMD and foundation for sleep medicine, and a Certificate in Orthodontic specialty training from the original and highly regarded orthodontic program, the University of Illinois in Chicago. Dr. Ray completed four courses, 50-plus hours, on sleep apnea/sleep medicine. Honors Graduating OSU College of Dentistry with highest distinction, Summa Cum Laude, Dr. Ray is a member of the Omicron Kappa Upsilon honorary Dental Society, Phi Kappa Phi Honor Society, and the National Registry of Who's Who. Associations Dr. Ray maintains active memberships in many professional organizations including the American Association of Orthodontists (AAO), the Foundation for Orthodontic Research (FOR), American Dental Association (ADA), Ohio Dental Association (ODA), Ohio Association of Orthodontists (OAO) ,and Columbus Dental Society (CDS), and is a Life Member of the Ohio State University Dental Alumni Association. Clinical Experience Dr. Ray has extensive exposure to different practice techniques and theories by being an associate three to four days per week with practices in Columbus, Cleveland and Dayton for three to five years while he built his practice in Westerville. Dr. Ray utilized many of these different techniques learned to perfect his practice. Dr. Ray now has more than 20 years of experience creating beautiful smiles. Continuing Education Dr. Ray believes in a lifelong pursuit of continuing education to provide the highest quality of orthodontic care to his patients. Through continuous review of scientific literature, postgraduate courses, and group involvement, Dr. Ray maintains an innovative approach to advances in orthodontics. Dr. Ray sponsors semi-annual CE for area dentists and dental staff as well. Giving Back to the Community Dr. Ray participates in Dental Options financial assistance and Dental Connections for troubled children for the city and state Department of Health. He is also a proud supporter of many sports teams, projects, and charities. Dr. Ray is a member of the local service organization Rotary International. He has been on a short-term international mission and on-going local missions for the west side immigrants. He volunteers on several positions in his church. Family and Hobbies Dr. Ray is married to Dr. Sharrie Ray, internal medicine physician. They have three children: Chris, Nic, and Brandi. In his leisure time, he loves traveling and vacationing at Disney World.
