Dr. Murphy was educated as a dentist and orthodontist at Chicago's Loyola University. A native of the Chicago suburbs, he has lived in the Rockford area for over 25 years. Early arch development, cleft palate, TMJ treatment have been areas of particular interest in his 27 years as a practicing orthodontist. Continuing education to learn new techniques and apply those ideas to help patients has been a passion throughout his career. As the father of six children, Dr. Murphy understands children's wishes, feeling and concerns. He works with them to turn problems and obstacles into goals and achievements. Close attention and the desire to listen help carry over into his professional work. Solving problems becomes the "motto for the day" as each patient presents unique challenges. The latest technologies and diagnostic techniques are applied to help with a patient's many needs.
