Care Philosophy

The number one question my patients ask me is why I decided to become a dentist. From a very early age, my father felt it was important to teach me about the value of hard work. My dad owned Shell gas stations and started bringing me to work. My father would remind me to "look enthusiastic, pick up your feet, and smile!" He wanted to give every person who pulled into the station an amazing customer experience, and instilled in me the goal to always provide the highest level of customer service. My early experience taught me that I wanted a career working directly with people. When I went on to college at Indiana University, I envisioned myself as part of a small business dealing with the customers directly, just like my dad did at the gas station. Upon graduation from the University of Iowa College of Dentistry, I began to build my dream office. This was not done alone – I have had a great team of wonderful people who have become an integral part of my practice over the years.
