About
Dr. Avitia was born and raised in Carson City, NV where his family owns and operates a Mexican food restaurant named El Charro Avita. He worked in all aspects of the restaurant from busboy to manger until he left to attend college. He attended the University of Nevada Reno where he obtained a B.S. in Molecular and Cellular Biology graduating with distinction in the top 15% of his class. He then attended the University of Nebraska Medical Center College of Dentistry in Lincoln, Ne; graduating in 2007. During his time in Nebraska he participated in the Ghering/Scottsbluff rural outreach externship, Give Kids a Smile, and the SONRISA project. After dental school he practiced in northern Nevada in several private practices, before moving to Las Vegas in 2009. Dr. Avitia speaks both English and Spanish. In his free time he enjoys videogames, home improvement, painting, working out, and yoga. Several original acrylic and oil paintings by Dr Avitia decorate the office.
