Originally from North Carolina, Dr. Erin Smith completed her undergraduate education at Duke University in Durham, North Carolina. After her graduation she earned her Doctorate from Howard University before heading south to continue her training at Jacksonville University School of Orthdontics, earning certification in Orthodontics and Maxillofacial Orthopedics. Dr. Smith relocated to the Richmond area and became an associate with Dr. Richard Byrd in 2011.

Care Philosophy

Dr. Smith understands that properly aligned, pretty teeth can make a significant difference in a person's health and self-esteem and that is why she loves giving each of her patients the beautiful, straight smiles they deserve. Dr. Smith listens to the concerns of her patients and after a thorough examination, she will offer the best treatment option. Her orthodontic consultations are always free. Dr. Smith works with her patients to help them understand the importance of good hygiene. However, successful orthodontic treatment includes cooperation between the patient, parents, the family dentist and our office. We have systems in place (including fun games for the patient) that will exceed your expectations!
