Dr. Francis X. Amato is a unique kind of dentist. With his fun personality, he gets people excited about their dental care, and then teaches them to develop healthy habits that will last a lifetime. Dr. Amato's passion is providing cutting-edge dental implants to his patients in need of advanced tooth replacement options in his state-of-the-art Implant Surgical Suite. Dr. Amato has trained extensively to do this and is a fully accredited, highly-trained dental implantologist who places and restores all of his own implants in our office in Jefferson. Dr. Amato has a Surgical Fellowship with Misch International Implant Institute founded by dental implant pioneer Dr. Carl Misch; and Dr. Amato was awarded both a Mastership and Fellowship with ICOI , the International Congress of Oral Implantologists, widely recognized as the world's foremost credentialing organization for dentists offering dental implants. Dr. Amato is also a member in good standing of the American Academy of Implant Dentistry, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the American Dental Association and the North Carolina Dental Society. Dr. Francis Amato grew up in Mississippi. After serving in the US Navy as a "Navy Nuc" in the submarine service and becoming a Navy diver he decided to go back to school to follow his dream of becoming a dentist. He attended Delta State University for his undergraduate degree and continued on to dental school at the highly regarded University of Mississippi School of Dentistry. After graduating dental school, he and his wife Gena decided to make the High Country their home. Dr. Amato and his staff focus on continuing education so that they can provide their patients the best dental care in Ashe, Watauga, Wilkes and the surrounding High Country. Dr. Amato spends many hours above and beyond the requirements in continuing education. His focus over the past few years has been in the area of placement and restoration of dental implants. Dr. Amato is the only dentist in the High Country and 1 of only 2 dentists in the entire state of North Carolina to hold both a Fellowship and Mastership with the ICOI – the International congress of Oral Implantologists – and Dr. Amato has also earned his surgical Fellowship with the Misch International Implant Institute. Dr. Amato and his wife, Gena were high school sweethearts and have been married since 1984. They have three daughters Madelaine, Lillian and Abigail, who you may see in the office during their free time, Dr. Amato enjoys cooking, working out and staying healthy, and he also loves to spend time with his family at the beach and traveling to fun and unique locations with the entire family, to deep sea swim, deep sea fish and scuba dive.
