About
Dr. Gavin Heymann was born and raised in the Chapel Hill/Durham area. He graduated from Chapel Hill High School and pursued his undergraduate education at UNC Chapel Hill, where he earned a Bachelor of Science in biology. He attended the UNC School of Dentistry, from which he graduated with his Doctorate of Dental Surgery at the top of his class in 2005. He remained at UNC for his specialty training in orthodontics, and received the Andrew McArthur Brooks Fellowship, as well as earned a Master of Science and an orthodontic certificate from one of the most well-respected orthodontic programs in the world. A lifelong learner, Dr. Heymann regularly participates in continuing education to stay informed about the latest advances in orthodontics and dentistry, and is an adjunct faculty member in the UNC Department of Orthodontics, where he enjoys teaching orthodontic residents. He is a member of numerous professional associations, including the American Association of Orthodontists, Southern Association of Orthodontists, North Carolina Association of Orthodontists, American Dental Association, North Carolina Dental Society, and Durham-Orange Dental Society. Without a doubt, what Dr. Heymann enjoys most about his job are the opportunities to form relationships with patients while working to help give them beautiful, healthy smiles. Outside of the office, Dr. Heymann enjoys spending time with his family and friends. He met his lovely wife Anne while they were in college at UNC, and they enjoy skiing, hiking, traveling, and cheering for the Tar Heels. They have two beautiful daughters, Helen and Clara Grace. Dr. Heymann is proud to be part of the Chapel Hill and Durham communities and is active in his church, Christ United Methodist in Chapel Hill, as well as the East Chapel Hill Rotary Club.
