Misleading about insurance and overpricedDr. Marlin's office told me they'd file my insurance paperwork and that I had 'great insurance.' After $800 in consultations (no actual work done), I was reimbursed only $35. Their treatment quote was 80% higher than other dentists I consulted. Felt like a sales funnel designed to maximize charges rather than provide dental care. Get multiple quotes before considering this practice.
Dr. Marlin did a full upper teeth makeover, he is a perfectionist! My smile looks amazing and natural. He and his entire office team are warm, professional and were tuned in to my needs as a patient. They worked methodically to give me the perfect smile! I can't thank them or recommend them enough! Thank you!!!
Dr. Marlin seems like an excellent prosthetic dentist from most of these reviews. However, I spent about $4,000 on an ineffective TMJ treatment, including an occlusal (bite) adjustment that NIH and other reputable sources recommend against for TMJ pain and seems to be an obsolete procedure, and trigger point injections. Most of that cost wasn't covered by medical or dental insurance. Later I found that different types of injections provided by an orofacial pain specialist, physical therapy, and other treatments covered by medical insurance were more effective and less costly.
I would give Dr. Marlin 0 stars if given the option. I took my cognitively impaired mother to see Dr. Marlin to help with what should have been a simple procedure that she needed help with on her implants. His office staff was incredibly rude and condescending. Dr. Marlin was unprepared for our visit and had no idea why my mother was there to spite xrays and information sent to him in advance. He also refused to work collaboratively with her current dentist to try to rectify her situation. STAY AWAY AT ALL COSTS! I have never dealt with more rude or unprofessional person in my life.
I have had dental issues my whole life. Eventually I needed three implants that left me with numbness on the right side of my face, a lopsided smile, receding gums, and a bad bite that, one month later, caused a loose front tooth next to an implant, which a root canal didn’t fix. This horrible experience, and the bad result, led me to contact Dr. Marlin. After searching Washingtonian Magazine for top rated Dentists, he seemed to be the specialist in repairing the bad results of other dentists. I told him I would never get another implant so he developed a treatment plan exclusively for me. All the implants were removed, all the crowns were removed, and a bridge of crowns build so that my bite would be properly aligned. He walked me through the entire process and explained in detail why the planned work was necessary. He answered all my questions patiently and in terms I could understand. He and his staff were professional and courteous. I finally found a dentist I can trust.
I have been a 'grateful' patient of Dr. Marlin's for almost 15 years. I initially traveled from Silver Spring, MD to only take advantage of his prosthetic expertise in implant and crown work. However in appreciating his attention to detail ( including getting color/shade and smile " just right") , I decided to stay with the practice for all my general dentistry needs as well. Dr. Marlin's preventive care in noticing small problems brewing, has given me an edge in avoiding extensive work that I otherwise would have had in the future A bonus to the dentist/patient relationship, is his outstanding professional and caring staff. From dental assistants to hygienists - they are all knowledgeable and highly competent. And what an added perk in today's world to be greeted and tended to by a kind and efficient office staff. Also, having his lab is on premises, expedites the process.
Today, I had dental procedures completed by Dr. Marlin. He spent almost 12 hours repairing damage caused by the previous dentist I choose whose work was not acceptable.Dr Marlin, is detail oriented and a perfectionist, I am lucky to have him repairing the damage.
I've been seeing Dr. Marlin for at least 5 years and I've received nothing but the best care from both him and his team. His attention to detail is exceptional. And, most importantly, I have the utmost confidence in what he advises as treatments. He is simply the best!

Dr. Marlin is truly a virtuoso of his profession. I went to him requesting correction of dental work done elsewhere. In a one day marathon, he replaced five old/faulty crowns and a bridge with six meticulously crafted temporaries. With the permanent crowns now installed, my bite is correctly aligned and the new crowns, made in his in-house lab, beautifully match the neighboring teeth. The restoration process took place over 8 months, was pain-free and included seamlessly coordinated referrals to a periodontist and endodontist. Dr. Marlin’s good humor and the kind attention of his staff were much appreciated. Experiencing this level of expertise, perfectionism and artistry gave me reason to smile, indeed.
