Glenn "DocSmile" MacFarlane, D.M.D., a lifelong New Jersey resident, was born in Newark, grew up in North Arlington and Belleville, and attended Seton Hall Prep in South Orange, earned a Bachelor of Science degree from Fairleigh Dickinson University in Madison, and earned his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree from the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey in Newark, graduating in 1985. Dr. MacFarlane is an aesthetic focused dentist, and has been dedicated for almost 33 years now, to brightening thousands of smiles. He is an expert cosmetic dentist in "Jersey" with extensive training in complete smile restoration, using the latest technology and restorative materials dentistry has to offer. Considered a true dental artist, he has memberships in several prestigious organizations including the American Dental Association (national, state and county), the Academy of General Dentistry, the American Academy of Cosmetic Dentistry, the Academy of Laser Dentistry, the American Academy of Facial Esthetics, the Academy of Comprehensive Esthetics, the American Academy of Implant Dentistry and the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. He opened his first dental practice in Bloomfield in 1987, and in Red Bank in 2005. For the past 20 years, Dr. MacFarlane has been the Official Cosmetic Dentist to the Miss New Jersey and Mrs. New Jersey America pageants and has dazzled the smiles of several other states winners. "DocSmile", as he is most referred, is proud to say that everyday working class people make up the majority of his clients. For several years, Dr. MacFarlane lectured around the world for a prominent dental laser company. He has authored smile enhancement articles in many state and national dental and leisure publications. His technique articles have appeared in DentalTown, Dental Products Report and Dental Economics. Dr. MacFarlane has also been featured in New Jersey Monthly, New Jersey Life, Wedding Bells and New Jersey Bride magazines, as well as, several state and local newspapers. He has appeared on News 12 NJ and Comcast Newsmakers and hosted his own radio program "Todays Smile" discussing new dental trends.
