I’m not a fan of dental work. At all.
In that light, this summer I experienced severe pain and swelling in a tooth and went to my dentist, who then was referred to Dr Powell.
I found Dr Powell to be efficient and informative. He took the time to explain the procedure while he worked. I appreciated that very much.
His assistant, Roxanne, made me feel comfortable (which I wasn’t sure was possible!) She, as well as the doctor, constantly checked to ensure my comfort.
It was over before I knew it. I have two more visits in the future because Dr Powell took extra time with my tooth to allow it to drain without discomfort.
I can honestly say I wish I would not have been apprehensive last night!

The staff was very cordial, good bunch of people , but Dr. Powell was not, he said nothing to me from the time I arrived until the time I left, it was though he did not want me in his office. I tried to give him the benefit of doubt because I did not know him, but he made me feel as though i was not welcome there. The staff was very nice. Maybe for him i was in the wrong environment, but i do thank the staff for being so nice.
Bad bedside manner, he said not one word to me from beginning to end. He fractured the tooth , I tried to give him the benefit of the doubt, so I went back, he again said nothing to me, you would have though that he was a mute. He then fractured a second tooth and sent me home with nothing for pain, during the night I had to go to the hospital emergency room.
I've had several root canals over my lifetime but this procedure by Dr. Lewis was the least painful I have ever experienced.
My experience with Dr. Powell was great. I had a root canal done. Even though, it took 2 visits, (I consider, extra needles) It was not bad at all. Excellent staff, great bedside manner. I would recommend to everyone.
Not only was the front desk staff rude to us upon our arrival, they waited until 20 minutes into our visit to tell us that they wouldn't be performing the root canal today because we were late to the appointment (which we thought we were early because they wrote the appointment time wrong). When we asked for them to clarify the appointment time, the front desk staff stated "we don't believe in confirming appointments or calling our patients." Very unsatisfied.
The staff was amazing!!!!!!! The doctor had left for the day, came back, and performed the root canal. Very friendly, clean, and great positive attitudes from doctor, assistants and receptionist. Would highly recommend to anyone!!
I agree with the other person that left a review, I am shocked the marks are not higher. I have never in my life had an easier, more painless root canal (and I've had a few!). The staff was super-friendly, and Dr. Powell was so quick and gentle as far as the handling of the patient and tools, etc. (I've had some dentists where you feel a little disheveled afterwards, but not here). I was in shock how fast the procedure went- 10-15min, as my previous root canal had me in the chair for hours.
Quick and efficient. Love the staff. Professional and courteous. Not sure why he is getting such bad ratings but I love this endodontics physician.
