About
Dr. Jacob Hamby hails from a long line of brick masons and was the first person in his family to attend college. He worked in the brick trade in high school, but knew he wanted to do something different. He went into engineering where he worked in the medical devices industry for more than a decade before deciding to get into the field of medicine. "I went on a medical and dental mission trip to Brazil and worked with a dentist on that trip," Dr. Hamby said. "From that point forward, I knew that I wanted to go into dentistry." Dr. Hamby believes in a holistic approach to patient care. "A lot of systemic diseases manifest themselves in the mouth," he said. "I like to look at the big picture of a person's entire health and treat them accordingly." It's also important to Dr. Hamby to build trusting relationships with his patients. Dr. Hamby earned his undergraduate degree in plastics engineering technology from Pittsburg State University in Kansas. He completed his dental degree and certificate in public health at A.T. Still University - Missouri School of Dentistry and Oral Heath. Dr. Hamby enjoys hunting, fishing, camping, playing the drums and guitar and spending time with family. He is married and he and his wife have twin daughters and a son.
