About
Dr. James Lalonde received his bachelor's degree in Microbiology from The Ohio State University. He went on to complete his Doctor of Dental Surgery at the Ohio State College of Dentistry in 1980. He brings 38 years of experience in clinical dentistry as well as earning a specialty certificate in Prosthodontics from the Indiana University School of Dentistry in 2011 and also completing a fellowship and maxillofacial prosthetics As a member of the American College of Prosthodontists ,the International Congress of Oral Implantologists,the American Academy of Implant Dentistry ,the Academy for Sports Dentistry ,among others ,Dr. Lalonde is an expert in advanced Restorative and Cosmetic Dentistry. He is board certified in both the restorative and surgical components of oral implantology and he is one of only 15 board-certified implantologists in the state of Indiana , making him a Diplomate of the International Congress of Oral Implantologists. Dr Lalonde also 32 years experience with treating TMD ( also known as TMJ to the layman) patients.He has taken advanced training for TMD diagnosis and treatment at the Dawson Academy,the Cleveland Clinic (spent extensive time with Dr Hudson Heidorf ,their TMD consultant there for almost 20 years , the Ohio State University (Full Mouth Rehabilitation and Gnatholoigic Occlusion),the University of Florida Facial Pain Clinic ,Craniofacial Pain and Pathofunction Mini-Residency) and many other of the top lecturers in the world.And since sleep disturbances are frequently related to TMD he also has over 15 years of experience and hundreds of hours of lectures relating to oral appliances to treat sleep apnea and other related sleep disturbances such as Upper Airway Resistance Syndrome (UARS), bruxism and clenching. Dr. Lalonde practices all facets of complex rehabilitative dental procedures, as well as treatment of special needs patients related to cancer and trauma patients. He also understands the need to help patients relax and is a member of the American Academy of Dental Sleep Medicine. He is also a member of the American Dental Association and the Indiana Dental Association.
