About
Dr. Hamilton Vason (Hamp) grew up in Atlanta. A family friend, Dr. Kenneth Grubbs, inspired him to become a dentist. After graduating from the University of Georgia, he attended Emory Dental School and received his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree in 1980. He then served as a Lieutenant in the U.S. Navy Dental Corps in beautiful Naples, Italy. He has been in private practice since 1984. Dr. Vason and his wife, Nancy, were college sweethearts and have been married since dental school days. Nancy provides administrative support for the dental office. They love spending time with family. Both of their grown children are married and live in Atlanta. In fact, their son, Carlisle, is a fellow dentist at Vason Family Dentistry. Dr. Vason has three grandsons who affectionately call him ``Doc``. Dr. Vason is a member of the American Dental Association, The Georgia Dental Association, The Northern District Dental Society and Hinman Dental Society. He is also a member of the Florida Prosthodontics Study Club and was a long-time member of the American Academy of Dental Practice Administration. He loves traveling, hiking, playing golf and walking the beach at St Simons Island. He enjoys attending dental conferences around the country with his classmates from Emory. They often find time to fly fish when they attend seminars out West. Dr. Vason is a devoted UGA football fan. For many years, he coached Little League baseball and youth basketball at Northside Youth Organization (NYO) and Peachtree Presbyterian Church, where he is an active member. He still enjoys walking Chastain Park and watching the kids play ball.
