About
Dr. Shoe earned his Bachelor of Science in biology at the Pennsylvania State University with honors from the Schreyer Honors College in 2001. He earned his Doctorate of Dental Medicine at the Harvard School of Dental Medicine in 2005, and his Master of Science and orthodontic certificate at the University of Maryland Dental School in 2008. During his time in college, dental school, and residency, Dr. Shoe was involved in various research projects. His dental school research project focused on potential molecular explanations for metastasis of breast cancer to bone. His master's thesis focused on the evaluation and application of a new rating system for treatment outcomes of patients with bilateral cleft lip and palate, a congenital condition in which the tissues of the upper lip and roof of the mouth fail to join together.
