About
Dr. Jeffrey P. Miles was born and raised in the small town of Ontonagon, located on the shores of Lake Superior in Michigan's Upper Peninsula. He spent a considerable amount of time serving in the military, nearly 30 years. He was active duty enlisted in the U.S. Army for 11 years serving as a Special Forces Medical Sergeant with 5th Special Forces, Fort Campbell, Kentucky. After returning from Desert Shield and Desert Storm, he left the Army to complete his undergraduate studies at the University of Kentucky. He then attended the University Of Louisville School Of Dentistry and obtained his Doctorate in Dental Medicine (D.M.D.) in 1999. While at the University of Louisville, Dr. Miles graduated with Magna Cum Laude Honors as well winning the Dean's Award. He served as Class President for 4 years. Dr. Miles was awarded a 4-year Navy scholarship while attending dental school. Upon graduation, he completed a one year General Practice Residency (GPR) at Naval Hospital Great Lakes, Illinois. He then spent 6 years active duty with the U.S. Navy. After a total of 17 years of active service, he served the remainder of his military career with the Wisconsin Air Guard and Wisconsin Army National Guard. Dr. Miles retired from the military in Oct 2015 at the rank of Colonel. In 2005, Dr. Miles entered private practice with the construction of a new office in Antioch, IL. Since then, the practice has since grown into three locations with the opening of the Richmond office in 2013, and now our newest location slated to open in February of 2017. Dr. Miles feels it is important to stay on the cutting-edge of dentistry. Thus, he maintains memberships in many professional dental organizations to keep up-to-date on the latest techniques and technology. He is currently a member of the American Dental Association and the Academy of General Dentistry. He is also pursuing interests in Forensic Odontology. To give back to his community, Dr. Miles and his hygienists visit local schools during February, Kids National Dental Health Month, to give presentations about the importance of excellent oral hygiene. Dr. Miles also volunteers with local charities and sponsors multiple organizations.
