About
Dr. Mason's educational background reflects his commitment to excellence. He achieved early acceptance into the University of Kentucky College of Dentistry based on three years of strong undergraduate academics at the University of Kentucky as well as outstanding scores on the Dental Admissions Testing exams. Upon graduation, he was awarded the Quintessence Award as the most outstanding in his class (1985) in periodontal therapeutics, and the Academy of Operative Dentistry Award as the most outstanding in the discipline of operative dentistry. He has since been invited by the University of Kentucky to join their faculty because of his extensive knowledge and experience in clinical dentistry, and especially because of his ability to effectively communicate what he has learned to others. Dr. Mason's commitment to excellence has consistently increased since his graduation. He is continuously seeking dental education that allows him to advance his skills and remain on dentistry's leading edge. He has trained extensively at the Center for Advanced Dental Studies in St. Petersburg, FL, and the L.D. Pankey Institute in Key Biscayne, FL over a 5 year period. Dr. Mason has been distinguished as a Fellow in the Academy of General Dentistry (FAGD), and is a member of numerous other local, state, and national dental organizations. Having sold his last dental practice in 2013, Dr. Mason has found his niche traveling to dental practices all over the Charlotte-Mecklenburg area and surrounding counties and providing commonly referred out endodontic and more complex oral surgical services, enabling them to keep those services in-house.
