About
Dr. Adkins obtained a bachelor’s degree in chemistry from West Virginia State University in fall of 1996. After graduation, Dr Adkins went on to work for Union Carbide Corporation in Institute and South Charleston from 1997 to 2000. At that time, Dr Adkins decided to change careers and pursue a career in dentistry by attending the WVU School of Dentistry. After graduating in 2004 from WVU as a doctor of dental surgery, Dr Adkins returned to the Charleston area to begin practicing. Dr Adkins started out as an associate dentist at Elk Family Dentistry with Dr Sam Carnes. In 2005, Dr Adkins decided to purchase the practice of Elk Family Dentistry. Here, Dr Adkins maintains an active patient base catering to complete family care. Dr Adkins has great rapport with children and sees children regularly in his office. Due to his love for working with children, Dr Adkins sees children part-time as an associate dentist with Teays Valley and Huntington Pediatric Dentistry. Dr Adkins resides in Pinch with his wife, Misty and two children, Alexis and Jake. Dr Adkins volunteers his time to coach in Elk District Little League and Herbert Hoover Youth Basketball League. He is a die hard WVU Mountaineer fan and attends home football games regularly and some basketball games. When he isn’t coaching or attending WVU games, Dr Adkins enjoys bow hunting and bass fishing.
