Care Philosophy

Dr. Kaveh Zand was born and raised in California. After completing his undergraduate studies at the University of California, Davis, he moved to Maryland to attend The Johns Hopkins University where he received his graduate degree in Biotechnology. Soon after, he completed his Doctoral degree at the University of Maryland School of Dentistry with honors, and as a member of the Gorgas Odontoligcal Honorary society. After dental school, he was accepted to the competitive General Practice Residency program at the Baltimore Veterans Affairs Medical Center, where he obtained advanced training in all facets of dentistry. However, his continued interest in root canal therapy led him to further pursue his training as a specialist in the field of Endodontics, at Nova Southeastern University in Florida.After completion of his advanced training, Dr. Zand returned to the D.C. area and began to practice as a specialist in surgical and non-surgical Micro-Endodontics, with a passion for preserving the natural dentition. He understands that root canal therapy can often be a stressful prospect for many patients, therefore he opened District Endodontics, with one very important goal in mind. To create a relaxing and non-threatening office environment with amenities andtechnology designed to make every experience pleasant. He strives to provide the highest standard of care while eliminating the stigma associated with root canal therapy. Furthermore, he believes that proper communication is the cornerstone of patient care As my patient, I will listen to you, answer your questions, explain my treatment, and let you know exactly what to expect when you leave the office.Dr. Zand currently holds active memberships with The American Association of Endodontists, The American Dental Association, and the DC Dental Society. In his spare time, he enjoys traveling, trying new cuisines, playing tennis, learning golf, and spending time with his Golden Retriever Chloe.

Dr. Zand is a miracle worker! Never experienced top notch service and attention to care like this before. I walked in the door in an extreme pain, desperately needed relief from a throbbing tooth. Dr. Zand listen to my needs, talked me through each step of the process, and took care of my needs in no time. I walked in with tears in my eyes, but I left with nothing but smiles and no pain. If you are ever in need of a root canal with top notch service, please go see Dr. Zand! He's amazing!

I came to Dr.Zand after researching multiple practices and chose him based on his experience,cleanliness of office,and excellent service. Dr.Zand performed root canal that was pain free and fast. I was a complicated case with multiple roots,after it was over I joked with the Dr.that I would come to him for all my root canals! If you need this procedure look no further,best of all he takes my insurance!

Dr. Zand and his staff are AWESOME! Friendly, knowledgeable, SUPER helpful, and full explain things so I could understand them! The facilities are beautiful, and technology is state-of-the-art! I've had many dental issues in life, this was one of the BEST ever!From check-in to check out! I would have given this place and visit 5 out of 5 on those experiences alone, but there's MORE...the chair that you sit in for treatment, is also a massage chair, AND you can even watch Netflix!!!!!!!!!!!
