About
Laurence Hyacinthe, DMD, better known as Dr. Laurie, was born and raised in Montreal, Canada. After graduating from the dental school at McGill University in 2004, she moved to New York City to complete a General Practice Residency at Mount Sinai Hospital. During that year, she traveled to Guatemala to participate in an outreach program, where she treated mainly children, in an isolated and impoverished native village. This experience was a turning point in her career, as it was then she first considered becoming a Pediatric Dentist. Dr. Laurie completed her Pediatric Dental Residency at Lutheran Medical Center but instead of starting to work right away, she decided to continue her training in Dental Anesthesiology, in order to offer comprehensive dental care to her patients. She completed the two-year program at Mount Sinai Hospital in 2010. She is board certified in both Pediatric dentistry and Dental Anesthesiology and holds hospital appointments at Lutheran Medical Center and the Mount Sinai Health System. Dr. Laurie became Director of the Pediatric Dental Medicine Residency program at Mount Sinai Hospital in August 2014. She is an active member of the American Dental Association, the American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, the American Society of Dental Anesthesiologists and the New York County Dental Society. In her spare time, Dr. Laurie enjoys traveling, learning various languages, playing volleyball, salsa dancing and kickboxing.
