About
Leia Porcaro, D.M.D. is a Brazilian-born dentist who graduated from the University of Alfenas with a degree in Dentistry. While in Brazil, she specialized in cosmetic dentistry and received advanced degree in Orthodontics. Immediately upon graduation, Dr. Porcaro opened a private dental practice where she practiced for over 8 years. This included 7 years of orthodontics. In addition to owning her dental practice she also worked for the Government of Brazil providing preventative dental care and treatment for the underprivileged. In 2003, Dr. Porcaro moved to Lorena Sao Paulo because she was hired as the Director of a clinic that provided free dental care to low-income citizens overseeing thirty-five dentists while still owning and operating a private dental practice. Through these experiences, Dr. Porcaro developed great compassion, exceptional skills and a passion for excellence in dentistry. In 2004, after practicing dentistry in Brazil for over eight years, Dr. Porcaro moved to the United States to pursue a career in dentistry. She was one of 25 international applicants out of 850 chosen to attend the prestigious Nova Southeastern University college of dental medicine in Ft. Lauderdale, Florida. Dr. Porcaro graduated at the top of her class from the three-year dental program at Nova University Southeastern and received all the proper licensing and accreditation necessary to practice dentistry in the United States. After practicing dentistry in Austell, Georgia, Dr. Porcaro achieved her dream of opening her own private dental practice in the United States: Grateful Dental in Marietta, Georgia. Grateful Dental is a comprehensive, family dental practice that serves children and adults of all ages. Our practice offers high quality preventative, general, restorative and cosmetic dentistry delivered in a supportive, caring environment. Dr. Porcaro is a conscientious, compassionate dentist and is deeply committed to the oral health of her patients. She and the staff at our family dental practice believe in building smiles and changing lives.
