About
Louis F. Rose, DDS, MD received his dental training at Temple University, graduate training in periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine and his medical training at the Medical College of Pennsylvania. He is Clinical Professor of Periodontics at the University of Pennsylvania School of Dental Medicine as well as Professor of Medicine and Surgery at Drexel University, College of Medicine. He previously served on the faculty of New York University and Harvard University. Dr. Rose is a Diplomate and Director of the American Board of Periodontology and is on the editorial board of several peer reviewed journals, including the International Journal of Periodontics & Restorative Dentistry, Journal of Periodontology, Clinical Advances in Periodontics, and Inside Dentistry. He is editor-in-chief of the Compendium of Continuing Education in Dentistry. He maintains a private practice in Philadelphia limited to periodontics and implant dentistry. Dr. Rose is a nationally and internationally invited lecturer on periodontics, implant dentistry and periodontal medicine and has published extensively on these subjects. This includes the textbooks: Internal Medicine for Dentistry and Periodontics: Medicine, Surgery and Implants. In addition Dr. Rose has co-authorednumerous articles in several dental and medical journals. Dr. Rose is the recipient of the 2013 Gold Medal Award sponsored by the American Academy of Periodontology. This award is the highest award bestowed by the Academy in recognition for outstanding contributions to Periodontics.
