About
Dr. Surace is a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist. He graduated from the University at Buffalo School of Dental Medicine where he earned his DDS degree in 1987 with a minor in Oral Medicine and Pediatric Dentistry. He completed a one year general dental residency program at Northwill Health in 1988. Dr. Surace was invited to be one of the first residents in the newly formed Pediatric Dental Specialty Residency Program at The Cohen Children's Hospital of Long Island where he served as Chief Resident during his second year. He completed his specialty training in 1990 and has enjoyed treating children and growing healthy smiles in his practice ever since. He also taught pediatric dentistry at Buffalo Woman and Children's Hospital. A native of Western New York, Dr. Surace graduated from Lockport Senior High School in 1979 before attending and receiving his Bachelor degree in Biology in 1983 from the University of Buffalo. He is a member of The American Board of Pediatric Dentistry, The American Academy of Pediatric Dentistry, The American Dental Association, The Eighth District Dental Society, and the WNY Association of Pediatric Dentists. He is currently on staff at Women and Children's Hospital of Buffalo and Eastern Niagara Hospital. Dr. Surace appreciates being entrusted with the dental care needs of children and gives back not only with his expertise in pediatric dentistry, but in his support and volunteerism with many children's charitable organizations. He has served on many levels, from their grass roots fundraising, to their board of directors, and held the office of president with many of them. He has also been honored as a recipient of the Distinguished Alumni Award from Lockport High School. Dr. Surace proudly practices as a Diplomate (Board Certified) of the American Board of Pediatric Dentistry. The American Board of Pediatric Dentistry certifies pediatric dentists based on standards of excellence that lead to high quality oral health care for infants, children, adolescents, and patients with special health care needs. As a Board Certified Pediatric Dentist, Dr. Surace has made great strides to ensure competency in the area of Pediatric Dentistry. Dr. Surace resides in Lockport with his wife and four children, with whom along with his extended family he enjoys spending his free time with.
