About
Mark is a practicing dentist and former U.S. Air Force captain and instructor pilot. He is married with three children. Mark was born in 1985 in Cincinnati, OH. He has four older brothers. Mark went to the U.S. Air Force Academy from 2003-2007. He was an intercollegiate varsity boxer and graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Biology. Following graduation in 2007, he completed Specialized Undergraduate Pilot Training in 2008 and was selected as a first assignment instructor pilot. He was rated "exceptionally qualified" in 2010 and flew over 1,300 hours in the T-1A instructing students. He also completed a Master of Science in Environmental Management. Mark flew the C-130E/H at Little Rock, AR, from 2012-2014 before exiting service and moving back to Ohio for dental school. Mark graduated magna cum laude from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 2019. From 2019-2021 he worked in emergency dentistry, helping patients in true crises. Dr. Ruther and Dr. Westendorf joined together in 2021, serving the needs of patients in northern Cincinnati. His practice includes all aspects of general dentistry.
