About
Martin W. Layman, DDS, FAGD, has been in the practice of dentistry since 1994. Prior to the evolution of Layman, Shirman & Associates, Inc. in 2009, Dr. Layman had been associated with its predecessor practice since 1995, and was instrumental in the development of the Streetsboro practice in 2005. Dr. Layman has interest in all phases of general dentistry including restorative, prosthetics, cosmetics, root canal therapy, and surgery. He has special interests in early treatment of orthodontic and facial orthopedic problems. Dr. Layman is a Phi Beta Kappa graduate of Kent State University. He earned his dental degree at The Ohio State University College of Dentistry, where he received the Senior Student Award for excellence in general dentistry. Dr. Layman did additional residency training at The Ohio State University Hospital, which included rotations at Columbus Children's Hospital and the Chillicothe VA Medical Center. In 2000, Dr. Layman became a Fellow of the Academy of General Dentistry, which is a selective and prestigious honor for his commitment to ongoing continuing education. Dr. Layman participates in the Greater Cleveland Dental Society, The Ohio Dental Association, the American Dental Association, and the Academy of General Dentistry. He also participates in Ohio Dental Options, a program in which free and reduced-fee dentistry is performed for those in need. He has two children, Amanda and Samantha.
