About
Muna Strasser truly loves being a dentist. Over the years, she has had the opportunity to meet so many wonderful people and build relationships with patients that have become part of her extended family. She says it has always been her focus to make each patient feel at-home when they come for treatment, and that she will always strive to make their care, comfort, and health her first priority.As the daughter of an American diplomat to the United Nations, Dr. Strasser grew up in Lebanon, Saudi Arabia, Libya, and Italy. She received her B.S. degree from Virginia Polytechnic Institute and State University, and her Doctor of Dental Surgery from Medical College of Virginia in 1991. Her education continued beyond the standard four year programs to include Certificates for an Externship from Michael Reese Hospital in Chicago and a two year post-doctoral residency in Advanced General Dentistry and at the University of Virginia Hospitals, where she had the honor of serving as Chief Resident. After that, she completed another two year program with Gordon J. Christensen as well as the Frank Spears Mastery Continuum. She remains a member of the Visiting Faculty at Spear Education, and is engaged in mentoring dentists from all over the world as well as leading a Spear Study Club with several other Quad Cities dentists and specialists. She completed a Residency program at the Texas Center for Occlusal Studies and the curriculum pr The Piper Education Research Center to provide her patients with the best treatment alternatives for occlusal and TMJ diseases. Dr. Strasser has been honored each consecutive year since 2009 by Consumers' Research Council of America with the prestigious "America's Top Dentists" Award. She has been repeatedly chosen as the recipient of the same award from "Top Dentists", a separate research company which identifies the best dentists and specialists in the country chosen by dental professionals themselves. Criteria for inclusion include experience, training, education, professional associations and board certifications. Dr. Strasser and her team are founding members of the American Academy for Oral Systemic Health, an organization of health care leaders and professionals dedicated to the relationship of oral health and whole body health. Her team devotes time weekly to training in order to stay current in the field. Dr. Strasser is active in her community through volunteering and donating her services. She speaks five languages, enjoys skiing, tennis, music, art, cooking, and gardening. She resides in Moline with her husband, Dr. Jeffrey Strasser, a Professor of Geology at Augustana College, and their daughter, Eve. They rescue animals and provide a home to many.
