About
Dr. Nimisha Somaiya began her dental journey graduating from one of the top ten dental schools in India, and practiced general dentistry in a well-established office for several years before moving to the United States. Dr. Somaiya then completed an additional three years of advanced training, two of which were at Southern Illinois University while the third year was in a General Practice Residency at Miami Valley Hospital in Dayton, Ohio, where she earned her certificate in IV Sedation (conscious sedation). In addition, Dr. Somaiya is a graduate of the externship program at the prestigious Midwest Implant Institute of Lewis Center, Ohio, where she received hands-on training in both the surgical placement and restorative areas of implant dentistry. Dr. Somaiya has been providing comprehensive general dentistry services and excellent patient care to the Greater Dayton community since 2004. She is excited to welcome you and your family to her own practice, Seva Dental, where "service comes first". Dr. Somaiya surrounds herself with talented, skilled team members, so you and your family can be certain you are receiving the highest quality care and service by a team of committed professionals who put your dental health needs first. In addition to her work in private practice, Dr. Somaiya is on staff at Miami Valley Hospital, where she previously held a faculty position in the dental program. She continues to be a resource to her colleagues due to her extensive experience and certification in IV sedation. Continually furthering her education is very important to Dr. Somaiya, and she takes classes each year to ensure she is providing her patients with the latest advancements in dentistry. Dr. Somaiya is a member of several professional organizations, including the American Dental Association, Ohio Dental Association, Dayton Dental Society, Academy of General Dentistry and American Association of Women Dentists. She currently serves as a board member of Dayton Dental Society, as well as the Peer Review Committee. Dr. Somaiya was among the 2015 winners of Dayton Business Journal's 40 under 40' Award for outstanding achievement in personal, professional and community service. Dr. Somaiya is passionate about giving back to the community, so there's a good chance you will find the entire Seva Dental team volunteering at local community events. She also supports Culture Works, an advocacy and service organization that works to sustain arts and culture in the Dayton region. Every year, Dr. Somaiya donates dental services for their silent auction fundraiser. In her personal life, Dr. Somaiya loves spending quality time with her husband and son exploring local attractions, cooking, traveling and reading.
