About
Dr. Paul L. Child, Jr. is a Prosthodontist, an advanced specialty, which creates optimal oral health, both in function and natural appearance, including dental implants, implant supported dentures, implant retained bridges, veneers, crowns, oral surgery, and extractions/bone grafting. Dr.Child provides service in all areas of dentistry, with an emphasis on Surgical Prosthodontics, high-end Esthetics, Complex Rehabilitation, and Implantology. As a Prosthodontist, Dr. Child focuses on delivering solutions to patients that have had trauma, bad experiences, errors in previous dental work, and/or requiring and seeking definitive full-mouth resolutions. Dr. Child enjoys practicing Prosthodontics and genuinely takes pleasure in providing the best care available. His patients describe him as a perfectionist, with a calm and empathetic demeanor, adding just the right amount of humor. Dr. Child takes the necessary time with each patient to listen to their needs and to ensure that all of their options are explored and discussed, giving them the autonomy to choose what is best for them. Dr. Child is highly ethical and places this characteristic above all else. Dr. Child takes a keen interest in your overall oral health and treats everyone how he would want to be treated - with respect, understanding, and compassion. Dr. Child graduated with high honors from Case School of Dental Medicine and completed a 3-year residency at the world-renown Louisiana State University School of Dentistry in Prosthodontics where he studied Esthetics, Implantology, Complex Rehabilitation, and Oral Surgery. He is also a Certified Dental Technician through the National Board of Certification in Dental Lab Technology, an honor that only a few dentists worldwide share. As a former CEO, Executive VP, and Chief Dental Officer of several well-known dental companies, Dr. Child is well connected and knowledgeable in all aspects of the dental industry to provide the absolute best for his patients. Dr. Child is a member of many academies and associations, including the prestigious American Academy of Esthetic Dentistry, the invitation-only organization comprised of truly only the elite professionals of esthetic dentistry and are internationally known for their work. Dr. Child has lectured extensively throughout the world on most dental topics, but primarily Prosthodontics, Implantology, and Dental Materials. He was the 2019 Program Chair for the American Prosthodontic Society, and serves on the editorial board of several journals. Dr. Child's personal mantra is, "If you don't have time to do it right the first time, when do you have time to do it over?" With this driving motivation, Dr. Child insists on setting a personal standard for himself that provides the highest quality care to you and your family the first time. When not researching the dental literature or pondering on anything dentistry, Dr. Child can be found reading an insightful book, spending time with his wife, children, and grandchildren, or maintaining physical fitness.
