About
Dr. Phillip Durden provides general, cosmetic and restorative practice at Winterville Dental in Winterville, Georgia. He completed his undergraduate studies at the University of Georgia in Athens in 1985, earning a Bachelor of Science in Microbiology. Dr. Durden received his dental degree with honors from the Medical College of Georgia in 1989 and opened his private practice in the Athens area in 1989. Dr. Durden is an active member of the Georgia Dental Association, the Georgia Academy of General Dentistry, the International Association for Orthodontics, American Dental Association and the American Academy of accomplishing his Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry, and has also earned the status of Fellow of Dental Sleep Medicine. He has completed over 1,000 in continuing education in general dentistry topics, accomplishing his Mastership in the Academy of General Dentistry, and has also earned the status of Fellow of the American Academy of Craniofacial Pain. Dr. Durden has a special interest and focus in oral appliance management of sleep apnea and TMJ Disorders. He launched Dental Sleep Medicine of Athens in 2020, where he provides dental therapeutic care for patients that are CPAP intolerant or suffer from jaw and facial pain.
