About
Dr Butler was born in Columbia and graduated from Spring Valley High School. He graduated from Clemson University in 1976 and finished Dental School in Charleston in 1979. After a two year General Practice Residency at musc in Charleston, Dr Butler served in the Civil Service at Ft Stewart, Georgia until 1982. At that time Dr Butler took over an existing dental practice in the St Andrews area.As well as being a life-long learner, Dr Butler has served and is still serving, in his church as an officer, Sunday School teacher, Stephen Minister and Divorce Support group facilitator. Dr Butler has been involved in State Dental Association Activities on several committees. He was instrumental in helping establish the Dental Student - Dental Association Member Mentoring Program. Currently, Dr Butler is part of a committee that is investigating establishing a free dental clinic in the Greater Columbia Area. Dr Butler has 2 sons and has coached baseball with them for 8 years. Dr Butler and his sons enjoy fishing, hiking, camping, boating and traveling to see minor league baseball games in the Carolinas and Georgia. They have a chocolate Lab mix named Dodger.
