About
Dr. Hessamfar completed his undergraduate education at the University of Maryland in College park, MD in 1992. He continued his education in the field of Dentistry and received his Doctor of Dental Medicine from and Ivy League school, the University of Pennsylvania, School of Dental Medicine in Philadelphia, PA in 1996. In 1997, he completed his Advanced Education in General Dentistry Residency from Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic, in Lancaster, PA, where he gained vast amount of experience in many dental aspect of patients with and without craniofacial disorder. He, then, started to practice in a private general dental practice in York, PA while holding a faculty position at the Lancaster Cleft Palate Clinic. Dr. Hessamfar, in May of 2001 after three years of training, completed his specialty in Orthodontics and in addition received Master of Science degree in Oral Biology at the University of Medicine and Dentistry of New Jersey, Newark, NJ. Dr. Hessamfar has treated thousands of orthodontic patients both adults and children, with or without dentofacial disharmony in the Maryland, Washington DC. and Virginia. He has changed and enhanced the lives of many patients by giving them the smile of their life time since he completed his Orthodontic training. He is a member of American Association of Orthodontics (AAO), the American Dental Association (ADA), the Virginia dental association (VDA), the Northern Virginia Dental Society (NVDS), Virginia Association of Orthodontist (VAO) and Southern Association of Orthodontics (SAO). Being in dental career as general dentist and orthodontist for twenty two years, has given Dr. Hessamfar an edge to be familiarized with all aspect of patient's dental needs to be considered in treatment planning their orthodontic treatment. Dr. Hessamfar is married. He has a twenty one-year-old daughter and two boys of a 10 and 11 years old whom give him the most pleasure of his life. He enjoys various sports activities including tennis, swimming, soccer, skiing and camping. Dr. Hessamfar and his staff are looking forward to meeting all new patients and their families in our Three office locations in Ashburn, Woodbridge and Alexandria in the coming season.
