About
I am very proud to be the fourth generation dentist in the Garrett family. Our history dates back to April 1861, when my great-grandfather James S Garrett began practice in Glens Falls, NY. At that time, his dental education was completed in a 3 month period as an apprentice to a dentist named Dr. Knox. James practiced from this time until 1915 in Glens Falls. My grandfather, Walter, was trained in Baltimore and graduated in 1910 from the Dental Department of the University of MD Medical School. He practiced in Glens Falls until 1961. My dad, Richard D Garrett, Sr. graduated from Harvard Dental School in 1939, and retired in 1989. I joined him in 1984 and was lucky to have the opportunity to work and learn from him for 5 years. I am blessed to have inherited such a loyal and wonderful group of patients and many more since I became a solo practitioner in 1989. I am also very fortunate to have had an extremely loyal office staff throughout the years. Dentistry has been very good to me, and I look forward to providing conservative and fair treatment to my patients for years to come.
