Care Philosophy
Dr. Richard E. Scheetz Jr. is originally from Boardman, Ohio, and in 1977 he received his Bachelors degree from the University of Notre Dame in Preprofessional Studies. He completed dental school at The Ohio State University (OSU) in 1980 while simultaneously studying for a masters degree in Anatomy (completed in 1985).Dr. Scheetz is Board Certified by the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. He is a Fellow of the American Academy of Cosmetic Surgery, and a Fellow of the International College of Dentists. He is a member of the Pierre Fauchard Academy, the Academy of Osseointegration, and the American Cleft Palate Craniofacial Association. Dr. Scheetz is a member of the local, state, regional, nationals and international Oral and Maxillofacial associations. He was recently voted Best Dentist in Central Ohio by his peers in Columbus Monthly magazine.Dr. Scheetz also serves as Adjunct Clinical Professor in the Department of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at The Ohio State University. He has lectured to dentists, nurses, dental and medical students, oral and maxillofacial surgeons, and plastic and reconstructive surgeons nationally and internationally on a variety of topics, including oral and maxillofacial trauma, dental implants and facial reconstructive surgery.Dr. Scheetz performs the full scope of practice in the field of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery including the removal of teeth, surgical removal of wisdom teeth, dental implant reconstruction, facial and jaw reconstruction, select facial cosmetic surgery procedures, office sedation and general anesthesia. He is affiliated with Dublin Methodist Hospital and Grant Medical Center.Dr. Scheetz currently resides in Dublin with his wife, Cindy. Together they have five children: Erika (who is currently in dental school at OSU), Brita, Heidi and twin boys Ricky and Derek. Dr. Scheetz is also a proud grandfather to his two grandsons.
