About
Dr. Nance graduated with a Bachelors Degree in Biology from Arkansas Tech University in 1992. While there, his lifelong interest in research began. During his time in college, Dr. Nance spent two years researching antibiotic resistant strains of bacteria and possible treatment modalities through the Immunology Department. He received his dental degree from the University of Tennessee. While at UT, his research interests flourished; publishing a paper on the possible side effects of steroids on young adults and developing some of the first tooth eruption tables for comparison of tooth eruption times for African American children which were virtually non-existent at the time. Both of these papers were published in peer reviewed journals in Craniofacial Biology. The University of Tennessee sent Dr. Nance to multiple international dental meetings to present his research including: Seattle, San Francisco, and San Antonio. Multiple awards for his research followed and he was honored with his election to represent the University of Tennessee at the annual meeting for research in our nations capital. As a senior in dental school, he was inducted into the honorary Odontological Society for his "advancement of dentistry and dental education". Imohtep Society induction followed for leadership at the University of Tennessee. While attending the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill and earning his three-year Endodontic Certification and Masters Degree his research centered on the use of TACT (Tuned Apetune Computed Tomography), which is an advanced radiographic technique now widely adopted for virtual 3D radiographs as well as panoramic images. Dr. Nance has been in private practice with two locations; since 1999 in Statesville and 2005 in Hickory. He has dedicated his life to the highest standards in endodontic care.
