About
Roy B Guster DDS was born in Chicago, Illinois and spent his childhood in the historic Bronzeville community on Chicago's south side. Dr Guster is happily married to his wife Irene, who has played a significant role in helping Dr Guster build his practice. Working with him as his assistant and office coordinator, she related very well with patients and staff. Although Irene is retired, patients still fondly inquire about her.Dr Guster graduated from DuSable High School in 1961. Following high school, he attended DePaul University and the University of Illinois at Chicago. ln 1966, Dr Guster enrolled in Meharry Medical College, School of Dentistry and obtained the DDS degree in 1970. After graduation from Meharry, Dr Guster served 2 years as a Captain in the United States Army Dental Corps.Upon leaving military service, Dr Guster worked with the Chicago Board of Health before establishing his own practice. Dr Guster has practiced dentistry in the Washington Heights community for almost 40 years. Academic pursuits and technological advances have included undertaking post graduate education at Loyola University School of Dentistry, Northwestern University School of Dentistry and the University of Illinois College of Dentistry as well as other institutions. In order to keep abreast of changes within the profession, affiliations have included memberships in the American Dental Association, the Illinois Dental State Society, the Chicago Dental Association, the National Dental Association and the Lincoln Dental Society. As a member of the Chicago Dental Society, Dr Guster has received an award for 35 years of exemplary service to the community. An honor of emeritus status was bestowed by the Academy of General Dentistry for 30 years of membership and distinguished service. He also received a dedicated service award from the Lincoln Dental Society.
