About
Dr. Ryan Serra completed his specialty training and Master of Science in periodontics at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill. While in North Carolina, Dr. Serra practiced cosmetic and restorative dentistry for three years. Prior to specializing in periodontics, he completed his Doctor of Dental Medicine degree at the University of Pennsylvania. Dr. Serra is trained in all aspects of comprehensive periodontal and implant therapy, including treatment of periodontal disease, hard and soft tissue regenerative procedures, mucogingival gum surgery as well as implant placement and site development. To provide a greater level of patient comfort, Dr. Serra is also trained in conscious sedation. In addition to clinical periodontics and implant dentistry, Dr. Serra has also completed research investigating the link between inflammatory periodontal disease, gingival overgrowth and certain medications commonly prescribed to treat high blood pressure, seizures and reduce the risk of rejection in organ transplant patients. Dr. Serra is recognized as a diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. Dr. Serra has been recognized as one of Central Ohio's "Top Dentists" by Columbus Monthly Magazine since 2010.
