About
Dr. Shan-Huey (Erin) Yu is a licensed, Board Certified Periodontist in Virginia. Dr. Yu completed her residency training and Master of Science in Periodontics at the University of Michigan and she is a Diplomate of the American Board of Periodontology. She received her DDS degree from National Taiwan University, Taipei, Taiwan and then she continued a 2-year general dentistry residency before her advanced specialty training in periodontics. Dr. Yu has clinical, research and teaching experiences in dentistry and periodontics and she has contributed to more than 10 peer reviewed publications in the field of periodontics and implant dentistry. She is an active member of the American Academy of Periodontology. Dr. Yu has been honored with numerous awards including the Richard J. Lazzara Award Fellowship and the Nevins BioHorizons Fellowship from the American Academy of Periodontology Foundation. She worked as Clinical Assistant Professor in the Department of Periodontics and Oral Medicine at the University of Michigan. Dr. Yu enjoys playing tennis and watching movies with her husband.
