dr. rizzi grew up on an elk farm outside of rolla, missouri where she learned the value of hard work from her parents and four older siblings. on the farm, she learned a little bit of everything bottle feeding baby elk and cows, which roosters to run from if they start looking at you the wrong way, catching crawdads without getting pinched, growing all the fruits and vegetables you can in the missouri climate, getting honey out of a beehive without the honeybees swarming, and whatever other hobbies her parents decided to take on over the years. dr. rizzis childhood cultivated her deep love and fascination with nature and biology and many of her own hobbies are now a result of that.
