About
Dr. Sheenu Goel grew up in the state of Ohio and attended The Ohio State University for her undergraduate education. She then went on to Columbia University College of Dental Medicine, in New York City, where she acquired her degree in general dentistry. After dental school, Dr. Goel did a general practice dentistry residency at Advocate Illinois Masonic Medical Center in Chicago, IL and then practiced as a general dentist for three years before pursuing her specialty in endodontics. During her time spent practicing as a general dentist, Dr. Goel realized her passion was in root canals because she could quickly make patients feel better. To her, each root canal procedure could be so complex and challenging, yet exciting and rewarding at the same time. After private practice, Dr. Goel returned to Columbia CDM to pursue her specialty training in endodontics. At Columbia, Dr. Goel had an extensive education in didactic and clinical courses and enjoyed teaching endodontics to the undergraduate dental students. She prides herself on working hard to be a clinician who not only provides excellent care in root canals and root-end surgeries, but also is able to use her knowledge from general practice to help patients make sound decisions about their treatment. Through her vast clinical training at Columbia, Dr. Goel can help the most fearful patients feel at ease and relieved of discomfort. Dr. Goel likes to stay very active and involved with organizations and giving back to those in need. She worked with various programs in Chicago and New York during her training such as St. Luke's Roosevelt Hospital, Thelma Addison Adair Dental Center and Cook County Hospital to provide care for the under-served. Dr. Goel was also active in student government as she was secretary of her class and also on the personal relations chair for the American Association of Women Dentists. She was involved with dental research throughout her training and became the secretary for the Jarvie Research Organization at Columbia CDM. Dr. Goel is a member of the American Association of Endodontists where she has presented research and won accolades and she is also a part of the American Dental Association. During her free time, Dr. Goel enjoys spending time with her husband and family, working out, watching Buckeye games, cooking, and reading.
