About
Dr. Ballard was born and raised in Birmingham Alabama. He attended The University of Alabama in Tuscaloosa where he graduated with a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering and Mathematics. He worked as a mechanical engineer for several years at both Mercedes Benz US International and Daimler Chrysler in Stuttgart Germany. Upon return, he then attended the University of Alabama at Birmingham School of Dentistry where he graduated in the top 5% of his class and was awarded the Excellence in Endodontics award. After graduating Dr. Ballard completed a NYU AEGD residency that was primarily focused on extractions, bone grafts, implants, IV sedation and full mouth reconstruction. Immediately afterwards he started an Endodontic residency at UAB in Birmingham, AL where he not only successfully completed the program, but accumulated 3 patents in the dental field while he was there. Since that time Dr. Ballard has pursued continuing his education with post doctoral course work at many institutions and recently received an award from Dental Lifeline and the Tennessee Dental Association recognizing his exceptional devotion to helping the needy with dental care that cannot afford it. Dr. Ballard is a man of faith, conviction and enjoys talking to others about his relationship with Jesus. He and his wife, Alicia Ballard, have four children: Samuel, Syliva, Clara and Jeremiah. Dr. Ballard is a rabid Alabama football fan and enjoys beer brewing, distilling, hunting, riding ATVs, snow skiing and spending time out on the lake with family/friends .
