About
Education Graduated from the University of Missouri at Kansas City Dental School in 1980 Attending the Pankey Institute since the late 80′s, (a world renowned institute of higher learning for general dentistry) Dr. Airey practiced in Kansas City and Southern Missouri for 10 years. In 1990 he relocated to Naples, Florida and practiced there for 15 years and then permanently moved to Boone in 2004. NCMOM is an outreach program of the North Carolina Dental Society. These clinics offer free dental treatment to those who are in financial need or no other options for care. In North Carolina, the access to dental care has nearly reached epidemic proportions. Since the founding of NCMOM in 2003, the program has provided over 45,000 patients with more than $19 million in free care. Dr. Airey has been attending the Pankey Institute since the late 80′s, which is a world renowned institute of higher learning for general dentistry. The institute encompasses the teachings of total oral health care such as growth and development, orthodontics, and comprehensive restorative dentistry. Dr. Airey has many years of continuing education experience with excellent clinicians such as Dr. Dawson, founder of the Pankey Institute, and Dr. Spears of the Seattle Institute for Advanced Dental Education In our society the importance of excellent oral health greatly contributes to the overall well-being of each individual. The important aspects of comprehensive dentistry include: the temporal mandibular joint, masticatory (facial) muscles, the periodontium (bone around the teeth), the aesthetic (cosmetic) components, and last, but certainly not least, the teeth. It has been shown in many studies that the bacteria in periodontitis (gum disease) has been linked to heart disease Therefore, the philosophy of this practice is to insure to all our patients the correct way to clean the oral cavity and prevent gum disease, by instructing proper techniques in home care and professional cleanings. To improve the overall oral health of each patient, this office will be using different types of modalities, such as; complete occlusal adjustment (balancing of the bite), orthognathic (jaw) surgery, cosmetic dentistry (veneers and whitening), and restorative dentistry (fillings, crowns, bridges, implants and removable teeth). The dental office will strive to uphold and follow the motto that: "Our Heavenly Reach Must Exceed Our Earthly Grasp". Dr. Airey has been married to his lovely wife Debbie for 30 years, and they share four beautiful children together; Quinn, Shea, Juan and Brett.
