About
Dr. Steven Yuan was born in New Jersey some 50 years ago to immigrant parents who were here doing their post-graduate studies. Dr. Steve is a second-generation dentist who grew up in the western suburbs watching his dad, Dr. Leon Yuan, teach Biochem, then attend dental school, before starting his own office and serving as an instructor teaching dental crowns and bridges. As a youth, Dr. Steve spent many hours helping out around his dad's dental office. After winning the Illinois high school state pommel horse championship, he went on a gymnastics scholarship to the University of Michigan. There, he captained the team his junior year before leaving early to attend the Loyola University Dental school in Maywood. After graduating, Dr. Steve has done extra training in endodontics, orthodontics, Invisalign, implant, and temporal mandibular dysfunction treatments. He is a perfectionist and never stops evaluating and considering what is best for the patient. Personally, Dr. Steve he has been blissfully married for over 20 years, has four of his own girls, and has cared for a girl from Haiti with CP for 7 years. He volunteers at Easter Seals, at the United Cerebral Palsy, coaching his girls, and at church. The entire family really loves God, each other, their church family and also playing music and sports; including accordion, flute, violin, piano, cello, guitar, tennis, softball, soccer, volleyball, basketball, ping pong, ultimate Frisbee, hockey, bowling, and golf. His wife is a breast cancer survivor of over 5 years and his one daughter has had ITP. They love Orlando because of the many years visiting grandpa and grandma, who had lived down there in the winters. After merging his 10-year-old practice (that he had taken over from Dr. Binkley) into Dr. Szatkowski's 40-year-old practice, some almost 3 years ago, he is so appreciative of working and looking forward to growing alongside with Naperville Dental Specialists.
