About
Thomas Paumier, DDS Dr. Paumier is a native of North Canton and graduated from Hoover High School in 1979. He attended The Ohio State University and received a B.S. In Microbiology in 1983. He received his D.D.S. degree, with honors, from The Ohio State University College of Dentistry in 1987. He then completed a one year General Practice Residency (GPR) at St. Elizabeth Hospital Medical Center in Youngstown, OH. He established his private practice in Canton in 1988 and has been at his current location since 1990. Dr. Paumier has been active in organized dentistry serving on the Stark County Dental Society Board of Directors and as President in 1999. He currently serves as an Emeritus Board member. Dr. Paumier has also served in many leadership positions for the Ohio Dental Association, including 4 years as Treasurer and as President from 2014-2015. He also has been involved in continuing education, chairing the SCDS Council on Dental Education and Programs as well as the ODA's Annual Scientific Session. Dr. Paumier has served on numerous Councils and Committees at the American Dental Association including Strategic Planning, Members Insurance and Retirement, Budget and Finance, and Scientific Expert Panels on Antibiotic Thereputics, and Antibiotic Prophylaxis for Prostheic Joint replacement patients. Dr. Paumier is a lecturer on numerous topics in oral medicine and clinical procedures related to direct bonded esthetic and restorative dentistry to national, state, and local dental associations. Dr. Paumier is on the active Medical Staff of Mercy Medical Center, and was instrumental in developing the General Practice Residency and Dental Services which began in 2007, and continues to serve as a clinical instructor. He is Board vice-chair of the Mercy Development Foundation, and serves as the Endowment Chair. Dr. Paumier is a fellow of the American College of Dentists, the International College of Dentists, and the Pierre Fauchard Academy. He lives in North Canton with his wife Christy.
