This may seem a strange take on going to the dentist, but I always enjoy my visits with Dr. Newman. Yes, there's sometimes pain involved in a procedure, but Dr. Newman is good at preparing you for that, and it's never something I recall after a visit. On a more personal note, my family were patients of Dr. Sandra Andrew, Dr. Newman's predecessor in the practice, for more than two decades. We came to know Dr. Andrew well, and an appointment was always an occasion to catch up on family --- including pets --- sharing the joyful and the sad. When Dr.

Andrew decided to sell her practice, we were hoping she would find the "right" successor because we knew we were losing more than a medical provider. Dr. Andrew couldn't have left the practice in better hands. From the beginning, thanks primarily to Dr. Newman's demeanor, openness --- and not least --- sense of humor, the transition was pretty painless (get it?). We got to know Dr. Newman just when she was starting her career and her family, which gave freshness to the experience for my wife and me, a couple who had a two-generation jump on Dr. Newman. My wife Barbara spent a career dedicated to the education and welfare of young children, and when she came home from an appointment with Dr. Newman, I got a recap of the mom-to-mom exchange.

Any concern I might have had about Dr. Newman's relative youth and (assumed) limited professional experience when she started in Roanoke was quickly dispelled by the confidence and self-assurance she evinces as she works. She's always prepared, but can confidently and quickly improvise when necessary. And she explains what she's doing as she goes. I'm not competent to comment on the state-of-the-art in dental practice, but from what Dr. Newman tells me --- and shows me --- about advances in the technology and her training experiences, I have no doubt that she's on top of it all. Friends I have referred to Dr. Newman do not hesitate to tell me how glad they are that they acted on my recommendation.

What a wonderful Dentist office. Never have I had a dentist take the time to talk to me and get to know me a little. It made me feel a lot more comfortable about her putting tools in my mouth. Everyone is so friendly, kind, and there to help you.

I appreciate the time Dr Newman takes getting to know her new patients. This has by far been the most comprehensive intake exam I have ever had. Medical history & x-rays are taken. She then took her time helping me understand cause, effect, and solutions to my TMJ problem in order to regain full dental health. I highly recommend Dr Newton for her professionalism, her skills, and her caring attitude.

The staff is kind & her office is lovely & welcoming. Dr Newman is unique in the fact that insurance does not dictate how her practice is run. This is why she can spend quality time with new patients. However the office will provide you with the paperwork needed to file your own claims with your insurance company provider. Definitely a Win-Win!!

I couldn't be happier with the dental care I receive from Anne Newman and her staff. Simply excellent!...Plus, what a relaxed and pleasant setting it is! Nice music, windows to gaze through, and skilled dental professionals who are also fun folks. A pretty unusual practice it it is!
