This clinic is dedicated to serving the unique dental needs of children, from infants to adolescents, in Clayton, NC, and the surrounding areas. The practice focuses on creating a welcoming, fun, and comfortable environment to help children feel at ease during their dental visits, aiming to prevent dental anxiety and promote positive associations with oral healthcare. Their team includes skilled and experienced pediatric dentists who are specially trained in child psychology and providing gentle, compassionate care. They offer a range of services designed for children, including comprehensive dental exams, professional teeth cleanings, fluoride treatments, and dental sealants, all aimed at preventing tooth decay and promoting lifelong oral health. Beyond preventive care, Brush and Floss Pediatric Dentistry also provides restorative treatments such as tooth-colored fillings, dental crowns (including "princess hats" or "robot teeth" for baby molars), and tooth extractions. They address specific pediatric concerns like tongue-ties and lip-ties, and offer nerve treatments (pulpotomies) when necessary. For children who experience anxiety, sedation dentistry options like nitrous oxide ("laughing gas") and IV sedation are available. The clinic also emphasizes educating both children and parents on proper brushing and flossing techniques, diet counseling, and overall oral hygiene habits. They recommend a child's first dental visit by their first birthday to establish a "dental home" for continuous care. The clinic's staff is known for being friendly, attentive, and understanding of the unique needs of young patients, striving to make each visit a positive and engaging experience.

I wanted to like it here, but I was so annoyed with a few things: We came in because my 5yr old daughter needed a cavity filled and a tooth ache. They ended up quoting us a 5 cavities AND 2 root canals. I talked it down to only one root canal and 5 cavities, however it felt like they were pulling the wool over our eyes and preying on our ignorance. This was proven the case when we eventually came in for her root canal and he ended up not even doing it because it only needed to have a cavity filled. Making a prompt appointment was hard to schedule, then after we had one scheduled they called and postponed it an additional month.

It wouldn’t have been too big of a deal, but like was stated earlier, it was to deal with a tooth that had been hurting my daughter, so the extra month was so hard on her. The office staff have called multiple times saying they need to update my insurance info, but then when I go in and talk to them in person they say they have all the info they need. The worst thing was how the dentist and dental hygienist treated my daughter while they were working on her “root canal” and cavities. My daughter was very distressed and they kept telling her to stop being so dramatic and stop crying or Santa wouldn’t come and other such threats. She was young and terrified and they obviously don’t know how to talk to or deal with children.

I really did want to like it here. The office is clean and the room we went to was a fun theme, with a tv on the ceiling. The people were nice, however, I cannot recommend them to any of my friends based on my experience.

My entire family uses this dentistry. They're always friendly. The staff treats you right and gives you all the information you need for upcoming appointments or billing concerns. These are the people I trust with my smile with. They haven't let me down yet.
