Detailed Introduction

The Crest Smile Shoppe is a dental clinic located at 612 Rockdale Avenue, Cincinnati, OH 45229. It operates as part of the Cincinnati Health Department's Primary Health Care system, signifying its role as a public health service provider rather than an individual private practice. The clinic is committed to providing accessible dental care to residents of Cincinnati, offering services on a sliding fee scale to accommodate individuals with varying income levels. This makes it a crucial resource for low-income or uninsured individuals seeking dental treatment. Services typically offered at dental clinics within the Cincinnati Health Department network include a range of general dental care, such as examinations, X-rays, fillings, extractions, partials, dentures, root canals, and cleanings. The Crest Smile Shoppe specifically offers emergency dental care with walk-in appointments available for Cincinnati city residents who bring a picture ID, proof of residence, proof of income, and a co-pay. While exact service lists can vary, their affiliation with a public health department generally means they focus on essential and preventative dental health. The clinic's operational hours are typically Monday through Thursday from 7:00 AM to 3:30 PM, with Friday hours requiring a call for an appointment. This schedule, along with the sliding fee scale and emergency services, underscores its mission to serve the community's dental health needs efficiently and affordably. As a government-operated clinic, it plays a vital role in the local healthcare infrastructure, bridging the gap for those who might otherwise struggle to access dental services.

Do not care about anyone: inquired about emergency services and was told that despite my teeth being broken and a few being down to the gumline, since I wasn't in unbearable pain or bleeding I was not worthy of their services and to find a different dentist for an evaluation I understand that low income serving dentists are overworked but I received no amount of kindness from the phone stafd

Don't be discouraged by the low ratings on here. Many of the patients I came into contact with were rude and just looking to complain. Especially sad as it's based on income and people were complaining (walk ins with non urgent issues) about having to be seen in between those that had scheduled appointments along with the fact they only have the capacity to take 5 new walk ins in the morning if they want to be able to care for all their patients for the day. The staff was very kind and patient and extremely informative. Didn't act the least condescending even though they weren't profiting off of my visit.

Explained things well and took care of me in a very timely matter. I recommend showing up early (before 7) so you can be one of the first in line. Like with anything else if you show up not one minute early don't expect to be first in line when the door opens. Also call and listen carefully to what you need to bring. (I heard people whining they didn't have an ID with them so they couldn't be seen.

They tell you this from the start, and it should be common sense). I can gauruntee the one star ratings on here were because people didn't get there early, didn't think to call and ask questions or just expect an income based clinic to be the Ritz. Myself and several peers have had nothing but great experiences here. Were thurough and polite.

I’d recommend the world here if I could but before I go.😏💘 The Dentist Sarah,😘 I Got to give it to Her. Not only is she the best dentist I ever ran across, her heart is astonishing beautiful… I’d reschedule my appointment if she’s not in town ….

When I started going here in 2014, they were experiencing significant issues with a computer upgrade and it was very difficult to reach anybody. Things are very much improved these days. They do offer services to those who might not be able to afford a private dentist, and with that comes the need for some degree of patience and planning since they take emergency walk-ins first thing in the morning and their calendar is always full. The staff is terrific and kind! They treat everyone with dignity and respect. I love Dr. Rote and am going to be sad to see her retire, but wish her all the best.

I have had extensive work done here and have always been pleased with the results. The negative reviews, in my opinion, are unfounded. Again, they offer free and/or sliding payment plans based upon income. Be grateful that they are there for you when you need dental services.
