You visit this clinic once, you are taking the risk of getting random charged from the credit card that you left with them, after a year that you had zero engagement with the clinic at all. We had cleaning visit with Dr. Lin at Dearfield Family dentistry, 2/2/2024. There was a copay and the rest was covered by the insurance, very simple and straightforward. It was confirmed and paid on the day the service was provided. However, this Monday 1/20/2025. After almost a whole year. I got a text from the clinic claiming that I have an outstanding balance of $600+ with the clinic and they will process the payment within 2 hours from the text was sent, without any actual bill/itemized receipt. After two days of highly unproductive communication with the clinic. My learnings are the following. 1.

They first admit that fact that the $600 charge was inaccurate, and they will refund part of it. (So this means that they are depending on the patient (?) to review everything to even make the numbers right?). And by the time I am leaving this review, I don't see the refund, not even a pending one on my end. 2. Then they mentioned that a separate check was sent to me from insurance 11/21/2024 (which makes zero sense to me. First of all, it's just a cleaning and everything was paid off on the service date. Secondly why would insurance send a check to me 9 months after all that. ). 3. Lastly they made up a completely fresh itemized bill with service that I don't recall taking (Or at least it was never communicated prior to the service. Again it was originally just a consultation with the doctor and a cleaning with a hygienist.

). 4. They now have a tendency of processing charges from your card without any consent. Since as of this morning of 1/23/2025 I was charged another ~$200 from the clinic. (So as of now I am charged over $900 for a cleaning, with insurance. I bet a general cleaning even without insurance wouldn't take this much). Overall, it seems that the clinic it's either in a bad situation financial-wise or the billing department has zero idea on what they are doing. Now I am taking my time to speak with my bank to dispute these transactions and leaving this review to raise awareness on how they abuse the financial agreement that you signed and how bad this clinic is managed.

I went to Deerfield Family dentistry after having a bad experience with my old dentist. The services I received at Deerfield were outstanding. The office is spacious, open, clean, bright, new, and airy. The dentists are caring, kind, patient, and professional. The staff is also extremely friendly. I finally found the right dental practice.
