My first appointment with them was in June. I had a difficult decision to make about some work I needed done and was nervous about going and even a little embarrassed. The day of my appointment I felt rushed and left more confused regarding some of the next steps in my treatment plan. I really didn't know what questions to ask so that left me further in the dark but I figured I'd take one step at a time from what I WAS told. I was told to make an appointment with an oral surgeon and the call after I had a procedure done to make the next appointment with this office. Ok, so I did exactly that but when I called I was not given a new appointment but was told to fully heal first THEN call. By the time I called again after 3 additional weeks, I was asked if I had gotten a pre-approval for the additional work I needed done. . . . ?? This was the first time I heard about needing a pre-approval and by now it is the beginning of August and my first appointment with this place was June 17.

So they tell me they will put in for one and then I'd hear from my insurance. ANOTHER two weeks goes by and I felt that was too long for a pre-approval. I call my insurance company and that's when I am told there was NO request for a pre-approval!! I call AGAIN and they told me, "Oh, oops. There seems to be a "glitch" and it never went through! We'll send it again. " I asked how long it would take and was told since it was already late on a Tuesday and it takes 48hrs to send electronically it will be another week. I call my insurance company again to find out how long they would take and they said roughly 3-5 business days from the time they received it from the dentist office. Ok cool. No biggie. A week and a half goes by. We are now at the end of August and I call this office AGAIN and asked if they've heard anything and I was asked if I had received anything from the insurance or not either and I said no and it's been a good week and a half almost two and was told, in an extremely condescending voice, "Oh well, there's your problem. The insurance takes about 2-3 weeks.

" ARE YOU KIDDING ME???? That was extremely different information from what I was originally told by both companies! I almost lost my cool and asked if there was any way to get started with the next steps anyway because I already know my insurance will cover what I need done and I was told I needed to speak to the office manager about that but she wouldn't be in until the next morning. I called my insurance back and found out that once again there was no pre-approval request!! I also was told that should have been done when I had my first appointment! No work should have been done until I was pre-approved! It is now the week of August 24 when I found this all out. They didn't even have a claim for my first appointment with this office! I didn't even bother calling back and filed a complaint with the insurance company. I also found another dentist to see and I saw them on September 8th and just yesterday on September 10th got a call from the insurance company telling me I was approved for new work! I also left the new dentist office with my next appointment lined up! This place is a joke. Lack of regard for people who solely rely on them to provide accurate information. Unprofessional and incompetent! Lack of communication and the ball is always dropped somewhere. Not cool when you're dealing with people's teeth and their self esteem. Thanks for making me feel extremely scared and insecure for months.

If i could give 0 stars. I would. I wouldn't bring my cats here. The place is visibly filthy, the dentist looked in my mouth for a split second. I had a raging infection from a broken tooth. The ONLY good thing he did was prescribe antibiotics. Told me to go get several teeth extracted OUT OF COUNTY! Then told Me to schedule a cleaning. Yeah, right. You might take my insurance, sure, but I deserve better care. Everyone does.

I will never go here again. Went for a second opinion at a different dental facility. My teeth. . all of them. . . can be saved. I realize ifh is under staffed and overworked but that is sheer laziness. And very dismissive.

I've had similar experience at ifh dental in ellenville. Please, do yourself a huge favor. Don't bother coming here and try to find another dental office that is willing to take your insurance or do payment plans. It's a big joke here. They treat you like a number and NOT like a human being. But I'm sure they don't care about my opinion. At the end of the day, they get paid anyway. I just hope I can spare at least one person the trouble that I went through.

I have never once in my life written a review about any place. I’m someone who’s always been afraid of the dentist. I constantly feel as if I can’t trust dentists with my teeth, because some just don’t care about your smile. Let me confirm, that this place ABSOLUTELY does not care about your smile. I had one dentist from this facility tell me that I had “multiple cavities” back to back. When I had went in to get the fillings for my cavities I was with a new dentist (the same facility) and he told me that I only had one cavity. Ultimately dismissing the other cavities even I knew I had. He did my filling and he did it horribly. I was having extreme sensitivity and pain in my tooth the day after, when I had never experienced pain or sensitivity in all of my other teeth. Unfortunately, for me, I had to go back and try to get my filling filed down because it was way too high.

(They got my bite wrong). The same dentist who did my filling had to ADJUST my filling. I was sent home with even worse pain than how it started. I decided to switch dentist and place. I had to go in for an emergency tooth check up, and they told me that my filling was still in fact high. They told me that my filling was messed up, and that my last dentist made it way too close to my nerve. They had also told me that I actually did have multiple cavities. Now , I am being suggested to do a root canal, because this dentist does not know how to do his job correctly the first time. DONT study dentistry and DONT become a dentist, if you don’t want to do your job. These are REAL people with REAL teeth, REAL feelings and REAL smiles.

I believe that this dentist alone could’ve single-handedly ruined my teeth if I kept going back to him. I will never go to this place again and I don’t recommend this for anybody. Don’t be the one person who sees multiple bad reviews and decides to still go here anyway. If you somehow have a good experience in this facility, consider yourself lucky. if you still have all 32 of your teeth by the end of your visit, you should feel pretty happy. Don’t send your kids here. Don’t send anybody here. Thank you.
